Construction of a Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) building, a roadway, security fencing and associated works at Sundon 132K Substation - carried out under a partnering / target cost contract with an element of "pain/gain".
Designers were Babtie, with EDF as Siemens' client.
The building design had not been fully developed and Siemens had a very short design/mobilisation period to begin site works - so the overall design developed as works progressed.
Once the shell was built, Siemens were able to install their equipment to programme, whilst Interserve progressed finishing works.
