The scope of the works included establishment of temporary works design and methodology to set up a 100T mobile crane over existing tracks in the depot; install piled foundations and preparatory works to the control tower parapet walls; fabricate and install a steel single span footbridge, column supports and staircase; excavate and install 20m long RC foundations between existing running rails; fabricate and install elevated steel drivers' platform; excavate and install concrete access paths, fences, lighting etc - all working under weekend depot possessions.
This was the first contract awarded under a Steelwork Framework for small works.
