Chelson Meadow Materials Re-Cycling Facility

for Plymouth City Council

The construction of a new materials recycling facility on the existing Plymouth City Council site at Chelson Meadow.  The works comprise an L-shaped steel clad, structural steel portal framed building (38m x 62m x 10m high) erected on an r.c. piled foundation (166 no. pcc driven piles up to 21m in length) with underfloor gas membrane and venting pipework required due to the contaminated nature of the soils.  This building appends to the existing storage and composting building and houses the new M&E MRF, installed via a nominated subcontractor.
