Replacement of the existing AIS substation with a new GIS indoor substation comprising 24 bays of F35 GIS, 16 x Feeders, 4 x SGTs, 2 x Bus Couplers, 2 x Bus Sections.
Before building construction commenced, the existing overhead gantries and redundant equipment were removed and temporary gantries erected for remaining circuits. The building was constructed over four existing 132kV cables and within close proximity to 132kV cable sealing ends.
The GIS building is a steel framed structure approximately 11m high with steel cladding. The foundations are reinforced concrete strip/pads, along with the first floor, which is also reinforced concrete. There are associated drainage and access roads around the building.
