Senior Site Agents

Managing projects within the Interserve Infrastructure Group either in the Civils or Water streams from contract award through to completion; reporting to either a Contracts Manager or Project Manager depending on the value and complexity of project and personal experience/ability.

 

To ensure the successful completion of projects for Interserve by achieving acceptable financial outcomes, whilst maintaining and improving client relationships, and adherence to the quality/safety/environmental policies of the business.

Key Tasks

 

·        Where possible provide support during the tender process by involvement in the preparation of programmes, methodology, and development of quality/safety/environmental plans in order to improve the quality of bids and ability to secure work;

·         Ideally secured tenders will be managed during the construction and hand over phase by the Site Agent involved in the tender;

·         Development of programmes for the construction phase and maintaining as-built progress and producing completion programmes for live projects;

·         Preparation of Quality/Safety/Environmental Plans for live projects;

·         Requisition and procurement of labour, plant and materials within tender allowances;

·         Management of site team e.g. General Foreman, Sub-Agent and Engineers involving the effective delegation of tasks to team members;

·         Methodology selection and preparation of Method Statements, Risk and COSHH Assessments;

·         Leadership and promotion of project compliance with the Specification and the Company Policies for Quality, Safety and Environmental issues;

·         Financial overview of project in terms of: tender allowances; variances between tender and actual costs; preparation of cost to complete forecasts with QS team; ability to use financial feedback information to refine or develop methods and resources where practical to ensure a successful financial outcome for the project or limit the exposure to loss or reduced margin;

·         Maintain and develop client relationships for ensuring a successful outcome on completion and enhancing opportunities for securing repeat work;

·         Proactive approach to the environment and customer care of all the stakeholders involved in a project – promotion of positive image of the Interserve name to protect and promote the brand name;

·         Develop team culture to create an environment where motivation and morale is high and earn respect of team members to gain their commitment and support that ensures their optimum input in the project;

Qualifications, Training and Experience
·         BSc degree in civil engineering.

·         Chartered status or working towards chartered status.

·         Evidence of relevant post graduation practical training e.g. attendance on courses for Form of Contracts, Formwork/Falsework Appreciation, Concrete Technology, H&S Management etc.

·         Similar position with a medium to major size civil engineering contractor gaining quality and varied experience in heavy civils over sustained employment;

·         Possesses proven experience on challenging and diverse projects with major clients e.g. LUL, HA, water companies, petro/chem;

·         Proven experience from engineering background demonstrating progress to Site Agent through career development with both theoretical and practical experience;

·         Experience of managing a team.
