Project Manager

Based in the South Wales Regional Building Business Unit office in Swansea, with overall responsibility for the management and success of a number of multi million pound projects, including customer relations, health and safety, quality, environmental, programme and the cost/value of operations.

Key Tasks

 

The Project Manager is responsible for fulfilling the activities assigned in the appropriate process, including:

 

·         Maintaining effective and long term relationships with the customer and their representatives/advisors.

·         Implementing and maintaining IPSL Strategy and Policies for Sustainability, Health and Safety, Quality, Environmental, Training and Development etc. and acting as an exemplar of the IPSL culture and values.

·         Ensuring the project team comply with the Companies Business management System.

·         Being proactive in the identification and resolution of problems.

·         Reviewing methods of working, alternative materials etc in order to maximise commercial profitability.

·         Managing, supporting, mentoring and counselling members of the project team in their personal development.

·         Undertaking annual assessments for staff directly reporting to the role.

·         Seeking and developing ongoing continuous improvement.

·         Providing aftercare services to the customer.

·         Directly supervising large project team comprising site manager(s), engineers, quantity surveyors and foremen etc.

·         Any other duties relevant to the role

 

Key skills/experience/qualifications

 

·         High level of leadership and management skills.

·         Technical experience and knowledge.

·         Commercial and financial ability.

·         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

·         Experience in a similar role.

·         Experience as a Site Manager or similar.

·         Experience of working on a live construction project.

Qualifications/Training
·         Degree (or equivalent) in construction related subject.

·         Professional Qualification.

·         CITB Level 3 Safety Course.

·         Appropriate CSCS Card.
