Design Engineer Temporary Works

Key Tasks

  • Assist in the administration of the company and departmental procedures as required;
  • Assist with the development of Graduated Engineers;
  • Liaison with clients/site staff/subcontractors and proprietary suppliers and the delivery of schemes to target dates and costs;
  • Able to keep abreast of new techniques, design codes, best practice and safety issues relating to Temporary Works.

Skills & Attributes

  • Good verbal and written English, presentable with good time keeping;
  • Able to represent the department in a professional manner;
  • Negotiation skills;
  • Professional integrity with wish to continue the development of their own skills;
  • Computer literacy in MS Office;
  • Ability to train and develop others;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Ability to manage own time and work to programme deadlines.

Qualifications, Training and Experience
Appropriate degree or equivalent.

Experience with any of the following analytical software packages would be an advantage:  CADS PWS, Integer Super-Stress, Slope, FEM and AutoCad drawing.

Worked in a design office for either a contractor, consultant or temporary works equipment supplier.

Some site experience would be an advantage.
