Contracts Manager

Summary of Role

 

Based in the South Wales Regional Building Business Unit office with overall responsibility for the management and success of a number of multi million pound projects, including customer relations, health and safety, quality, environmental, programme and the cost/value of operations.

Key Tasks

 

·         Assist with the establishment and delivery of the objectives and targets contained within the Annual Business Unit Business Plan.

·         Maintaining effective and long-term relationships with internal and external customers and their representatives/advisors.

·         Implementing and maintaining IPSL Strategy and Policies for Sustainability, Health and Safety, Quality, Environmental, Training and Development etc.

·         Ability to prioritise and meet pre-defined deadlines.

·         Ensuring the project teams comply with the Companies Business Management System.

·         Being proactive in the identification and resolution of problems.

·         Reviewing methods of working, alternative materials etc in order to maximise commercial profitability.

·         Managing, monitoring, supporting, mentoring and counselling members of the project teams in their personal development.

·         Undertaking annual appraisal for staff directly reporting to the role

·         Seeking and developing ongoing continuous improvement.

·         Providing aftercare services to the customers.

·         Any other duties relevant to the job role

·         Directly supervises a number of project teams comprising project and site managers, engineers, quantity surveyors and foremen etc.

 

Skills/Experience/Qualifications

 

·         High level of leadership and management skills

·         Technical experience and knowledge

·         High level of Commercial and Financial ability

·         Excellent organisational and communication skills

·         Experience in a similar role

·         Experience as a Construction Project Manager or similar

Qualifications/Training
·         Degree (or equivalent) in appropriate subject

·         Professional Qualification

·         CITB Level 3 Safety Course

·         Appropriate CSCS Card
