Business Manager - Extended Schools

Summary of Role

Extended schools is a Government initiative to improve the outcomes and raising standards of achievement for children and young people. There are now over 5,000 schools offering the full range of extended services which includes:

·         varied range of activities including study support, sport and music clubs

·         Parenting and family support

·         Swift and easy access to targeted and specialist services

·         Community access to facilities including adult and family learning, ICT and sports grounds

Interserve Education provides the facilities management and extended schools services to the schools in Telford, Sheffield and Hattersley.

The Extended Schools Business Manager will have overall responsibility for developing and delivering effective extended school activities across the identified cluster of schools.

Key Responsibilities

·         Prepare annual business plans in conjunction with relevant site teams and monitor performance against business plans on a monthly basis.

 

·         To develop best practice solutions for Extended Schools as part of bid submissions.

 

·         Be responsible for the delivery of the Extended School programme on behalf of the identified clusters of schools.

 

·         Develop Key Performance Indicators to monitor business performance

 

·         Ensure Extended Schools Operations are delivered and managed on sound commercial practices and processes.

 

·         Ensure all legislative requirements are fully complied with.

 

·         Indirectly supervise two members of staff.

 

·         Responsible for managing a budget.

Experience

 

·         Proven ability to manage client relationships.

·         Experience of managing diverse teams.

·         Experience of delivering sports/ extended schools activities.

·         Financial responsibility for delivery of sports/ extended schools activities.

·         Experience of working within a facilities management environment an advantage.

 

Additional information

 

Full UK driving licence required.  Willing to travel throughout the geographical region.

Qualifications & Training
·         Management accountancy qualification preferable, but not essential.
