Business Improvement Manager

Summary of role

The role will be responsible for the co-ordination of activities of the following functions & any part time promoters in each Business Unit: Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) Environment, Quality, Total Quality Management & Investors In People (IIP).  The role will also ensure the effective operation of the Business Management System in the Business Units.

Key Responsibilities

 

Mentoring

·         Facilitate the provision of training and actively mentor consistent use of the management system.

·         I.T. mentoring i.e. in the use of systems information (internal document system, forms etc).

·         Facilitation of Quality Improvement Teams at Operational Unit level.

·         Support the Employee Survey process.

 

Communications

·         Attend Business Systems/Continuous Improvement meetings at company level.

·         Support for prequalifications that are at Business Unit level.

·         Attend local British Quality Foundation/Constructing Excellence/Environmental seminars and workshops.

·         Investors In People briefings and audit preparation.

·         Investors In Excellence assessment preparation.

 

Management System

·         Lead F50 Business Management System (Business Management System) Review Meetings at Operational Unit Level.

·         Attend & contribute information to F50 BMS Review Meetings at Business Unit Level.

·         Provide a point of contact in the Business Units for all registration bodies for ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS18001 & IIP.

·         Produce & maintain audit programmes for internal audits in each Business unit

·         Carry out internal audits to a single audit model approach (covering Safety/Environment/Quality etc)

 

Performance Measurement

·         Act as an assessor and facilitator for internal measurement to identify strengths and weaknesses for continuous improvement planning.

·         Ensure data is accurately captured at source for the use in KPI information.

 

Supply Chain Management

·         Assist or act as lead auditor on second party audits of strategic and high risk supply chain members

 Key skills/experience/qualifications

·         highly self-motivated

·         diplomatic and flexible

·         Possess a good understanding of company management systems. 

·         Ability to contribute to continuously improving the company performance

·         Right first time every time attitude.

·         Comprehensive understanding of relevant quality standards, systems and recognised bodies.

·         Experience of a similar role.

·         Experience of or understanding of the construction industry.
