Southampton Schools PFI
for Southampton City Council
This PFI project consisted of the construction of three new schools - a mix of single, two, three and four-storey linked blocks in traditional construction with structural steel frame, generally brick external cavity wall construction, standing seam roof and blockwork internal walls.
The schools include community accommodation, sports halls and gymnasium, with "performance" spaces fully finished to walls, floors and ceilings in robust and durable materials. The buildings are heated using low pressure hot water systems and are generally naturally ventilated.
There are extensive hard and soft play areas, all weather pitches, car parking, cycle storage and landscaping.
