This major project was awarded under the ProCure21 national framework and delivered by Interserve Health as Principal Supply Chain Partner.

Phase 1 of the development comprised two new blocks and a new hospital "street", together with alterations and demolitions to parts of the existing hospital.  The first block houses a new paediatric department, pathology and women's health.  This three-storey building joins the existing hospital via a covered link.

The other major building houses a new patients' catering area, a staff canteen and incorporates a purpose-built pharmacy.  The new street forms a major circulation area for the extended hospital by providing a covered walkway, allowing access to all areas.

New patient car parking and refurbishment of both the main entrance and maternity department complete the rejuvenation of Friarage Hospital.
