Interserve, the infrastructure and facilities management group, and client St Helens & Knowsley Hospitals NHS Trust have received the ProCure 21 Award in the 2004 Building Better Healthcare awards. The accolade was for the creation of the new rehabilitation wards at St Helens Hospital, Merseyside.

Interserve Named Preferred Supplier in Water Contracts Worth £150m

Interserve has been named preferred supplier in two major water contracts with a combined value of approximately £150 million. One is a framework contract with Severn Trent Water worth an estimated £100 million; the other is a project to deliver the Thames Gateway Water Treatment Plant for Thames Water where Interserve will undertake work valued in the region of £50 million as part of a consortium.

Interserve named preferred bidder for £140m Telford Schools PFI project

Interserve, the support services group, has been named preferred bidder by the Borough of Telford & Wrekin for its schools PFI scheme. Interserve group companies will provide services worth some £110 million in design, construction and operational fees. Interserve is partnering with HBOS as equal investors in the scheme, the tenth on which the organisations have worked together.

Interserve consortium named preferred bidder for £1bn Armoured Vehicles Training Services PFI

A consortium involving Interserve, the support services group, has been named preferred bidder for the MOD's Armoured Vehicles Training Service (AVTS) programme. The AVTS PFI programme is valued at approximately £1 billion, over 30 years. Subject to negotiations, a contract is expected to be signed in late 2005. Under the contract Interserve will provide services worth in the region of £120 million.

Interserve Wins £240m 'Armada' Fleet Accommodation Centre PFI

Interserve, the support services group, has been awarded the £240 million 'Armada' PFI contract to create, operate and maintain the MOD's new Single Living Accommodation (SLA) facilities at the Fleet Accommodation Centre (FAC) in Devonport, Devon. Construction will begin immediately and is scheduled for completion in early 2008. Facilities services will begin in October 2004 and will run for a total of over 24 years. Interserve was named preferred bidder for the contract in 2003.

Interserve Wins Contracts Worth Over £100m

Interserve, the support services group, has won a variety of major contracts with a total value of over £100 million. The most significant of these are two projects in the NHS's ProCure21 framework agreement with a construction value of over £35 million. The group has also been awarded a two-year extension to its facilities management contract with the Office for National Statistics (ONS) worth £14 million and refurbishment work for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) with a target value in the region of £15 million.

Board Change

Interserve Plc announces that Allan Hannah will be leaving the Group with immediate effect. Mr Hannah, 54, was appointed to the board in 1995 and as an Executive Director was principally responsible for overseeing the Group's Equipment Services Division, which trades as RMD Kwikform.

Interserve Wins £95m Cornwall Schools PFI

Interserve, the support services group, has reached financial close on the PFI contract with Cornwall County Council covering 17 schools in and around Truro and Penryn. Interserve will deliver both construction and facilities services in the project, together worth approximately £95 million. Pyramid Schools (Cornwall) Ltd, Interserve's consortium with the Bank of Scotland, was announced as preferred bidder for the contract towards the end of 2003.

Interserve Wins Industrial Contracts Worth over £40m

Interserve Industrial Services has won a recent series of contracts worth in excess of £40m. The most significant is a long-term contract with British Nuclear Fuels plc (BNFL). Others are with clients including International Power, General Electric, Shell, BP, Urenco, Escom, YDL, DuPont, Jacobs and BAE Systems and last between six months and five years.

Interserve to Build £11m UAE Racing Retreat

Interserve's United Arab Emirates project services business has won the main contract to build the 75 million dirham (£11 million) Endurance City Desert Retreat. Khansaheb Civil Engineering LLC, in which Interserve owns a 45 per cent share, will build the horse-racing and cultural centre at Al Lisaili, some 55 miles into the desert from Dubai.

Interserve Collars £60m Metropolitan Police Facilities Contract

Interserve has won a two-year extension, increased in scope, to its existing five-year contract with the Metropolitan Police. The new contract will be worth £60 million over the two years, representing an additional £5 million per year on top of the current level of activity. It begins on 1st January 2004.

Interserve Announces £100m Dubai Retail & Leisure Development

Interserve's Middle East project services business has been awarded the contract to build the retail and leisure component of the Mall of the Emirates development in Dubai, United Arab Emirates – the largest such complex in the Arab world. The value of this Main Mall contract to associate company Khansaheb Civil Engineering LLC, in which Interserve owns a 45 per cent share, is 620 million dirhams (£100 million).

Closure of Foundation Engineering Operations

Interserve Plc (Interserve) announced today that, following the completion of a review of operations, it is proposing to discontinue its activities in foundation engineering (piling) by closing its subsidiary, Westpile Ltd (Westpile). Westpile is a self-contained business unit within Interserve’s Project Services Division, with an annual turnover of approximately £20 million.

Interserve Selected for £7 billion Procure 21 National Framework

Interserve has been selected by NHS Estates as one of 12 Principal Supply Chain Partners (PSCPs) in the national roll-out of the ProCure 21 framework agreement, estimated to be worth an aggregate £7 billion over five years. This follows Interserve’s successful participation in the pilot programme which began last year. After 15 months the total value of schemes being handled is twice the amount originally anticipated for the pilot’s entire four-year term.

Interserve Consortium wins Dual £70m Tyrone Colleges PFI

Interserve, the support services group, and its consortium partner O’Hare & McGovern Limited have reached financial close on the dual PFI agreement to design, build and operate two colleges of further education in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. The two contracts, managed through a single PFI bidding process by the Department for Employment and Learning, are worth £70 million in design, construction and operational fees.

Interserve Project Services has been awarded the Highways Agency’s first contract where tenders were assessed solely on quality rather than a combination of quality and price. The project budget of £45m covers improvements to six junctions on the A1 between Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, and Blyth, Nottinghamshire.

Interserve to create new £45m offices in Inland Revenue PFI

Interserve Project Services has negotiated a £45 million contract to design and build new offices for the Inland Revenue and the Department for Work and Pensions as part of the Private Finance Initiative (PFI) redevelopment of the Newcastle-upon-Tyne estate. The company is undertaking the work at Longbenton on behalf of the Newcastle Estate Partnership, a joint venture between AMEC Developments and Interservefm.

Interserve sees £28m in Industrial Wins with the aid of Goldeneye

Interserve Industrial Services has won a series of contracts totalling £28m, the most recent of which is on the Shell Goldeneye gas-terminal project in Scotland. The contracts have been awarded by clients including Foster Wheeler, Texaco, BNFL and Urenco, and last between four months and four years. The average is between one and two years.

Interserve Project Services has won a contract worth £27m for the creation of a new, 5-kilometre section of the A5 north of Birmingham. The Highways Agency has awarded the contract under its Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) programme. Interserve Closes Peterborough Prison PFI - Facility will be UK's First Ever Prison for Males and Females

Following the signing of the Ashford prison Private Finance Initiative (PFI) contract in December, Interserve and its partners have closed a further substantial PFI contract with Her Majesty's Prison Service (HMPS) to create and operate a new prison at Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. Opening in early 2005, it will be the first purpose-built facility in the United Kingdom to accommodate both male and female inmates.

Interserve announces framework agreement on £245m water infrastructure projects

Interserve Plc and its partners in KMI Water have been awarded a £245m framework agreement by United Utilities to construct a variety of water infrastructure projects throughout West Lancashire and North Manchester over the next three years. Interserve's Project Services division will be working with KMI Water joint venture partners Kier Construction and J Murphy and Sons on the project in the 'Central Framework Area' - the largest, by value, of three framework agreements awarded by United Utilities.

The Prison Service has announced that the consortium, of which Interserve Plc is a member, is sole preferred bidder for the new £265 million prison project at Peterborough. Other members of the consortium are Sodexho Alliance SA and the Royal Bank Project Investments Limited. The operator of the prison will be UK Detention Services Limited.
