Slough chooses Interserve

25 Jul 2001

Support services group Interserve Plc is pleased to have been chosen by Slough Borough Council as its preferred bidder for building maintenance and cleaning services.

The 320 staff in the Direct Services Organisation will transfer to Interserve who will be responsible for taking care of 70 council-owned buildings and 8000 homes. Interserve estimates the value of the contract to be up to £14 million per year. Detailed negotiations will continue with the objective of enabling the transfer to take place in October. The contract will be for a period of up to 15 years.

Mike Bottjer, Chairman, commented:

“We are delighted by Slough’s decision and look forward to working in partnership with the council, employees and tenants to deliver improved quality of service and better value for money.”
