The most significant is a long-term contract with British Nuclear Fuels plc (BNFL). Others are with clients including International Power, General Electric, Shell, BP, Urenco, Escom, YDL, DuPont, Jacobs and BAE Systems and last between six months and five years. The contract with BNFL is for mechanical, electrical, building and civil works at its Westinghouse UK fuel business based at Springfields, Lancashire. Interserve will provide project and site management services across all the disciplines, working with the client to create innovative approaches to asset management, reliability and maintainability across the site. The ethos of the contract will be one of long-term partnering with the two parties collaborating and integrating their skills to provide added value to the current service operations. The contract extends Interseve’s continued relationship with the client and further strengthens its position as a major player within the nuclear sector providing a full range of maintenance, repair and decommissioning services. Interserve’s existing undertakings with BNFL include a variety of contracts at Sellafield and Dounreay and a further recently-awarded programme of work at Dungeness during the maintenance shutdown of the Magnox plant. For International Power and General Electric, Interserve Industrial Services will be providing multi-disciplined services at Rugeley power station and Baglan Bay respectively. The company has also won a suite of contracts for BAE at Devonport and Barrow where it will undertake a range of services in the completion of several Royal Navy vessels. These include painting, insulation, containment and outfitting, underlining the variety professional skills available within the company. Stewart Hagerty, Interserve Industrial Services’ Managing Director, commented, “These awards clearly demonstrate the extent of the company’s market base. Our clients understand the benefits Interserve can bring through its customer focus, culture of innovation and total commitment to safety. Our service concept is based on adding value to our clients’ operations – which they clearly recognise as these contracts include a number of repeat orders from existing customers.” |
