The most significant of these are two projects in the NHS's ProCure21 framework agreement with a construction value of over £35 million. The group has also been awarded a two-year extension to its facilities management contract with the Office for National Statistics (ONS) worth £14 million and refurbishment work for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) with a target value in the region of £15 million. Interserve has been named the Principal Supply Chain Partner (preferred bidder) in both the ProCure21 projects. The larger is with South London and Maudsley NHS Trust, covering two new medium-secure mental health facilities with a total of 113 beds for Lambeth Forensic Services and Southwark Forensic Services. Details are expected to be finalised by the end of the year with construction set to take place over the following two years. The second ProCure21 project is for Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Trust. It consists of two schemes at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary (HRI): the relocation of the Pharmacy Manufacturing Unit; and the conversion of facilities to create new urology wards and a surgical assessment unit. Interserve was selected following other work at HRI with which the Trust was highly pleased. Meanwhile, the ONS has given Interserve a two-year extension to its existing five-year contract covering its five main sites across the United Kingdom. The contract extension is worth some £14 million and will begin at the end of the original five-year period in November 2005. Interserve will continue to supply a full range of facilities management services including building services, catering, cleaning, helpdesk, grounds maintenance, health & safety and security. For the DWP Interserve is to undertake the refurbishment of a further 33 offices in the national Jobcentre Plus Programme. The additional work, in Scotland and north-west England, is due for completion by October 2005 and has been awarded as a result of Interserve's achievements against Key Performance Indicators in the programme in 2003/2004.
