Interserve Selected for £7 billion Procure 21 National Framework

16 Sep 2003

Interserve has been selected by NHS Estates as one of 12 Principal Supply Chain Partners (PSCPs) in the national roll-out of the ProCure 21 framework agreement, estimated to be worth an aggregate £7 billion over five years. This follows Interserve’s successful participation in the pilot programme which began last year. After 15 months the total value of schemes being handled is twice the amount originally anticipated for the pilot’s entire four-year term.

ProCure 21 covers all non-PFI construction projects with a capital cost greater than £1 million. Its purpose is to deliver better quality healthcare buildings and improved value for money through the extensive use of long-term partnering. As a PSCP, Interserve’s knowledge and expertise, including the required design and cost-management skills, will be available to over 600 NHS trusts, which will not need to tender in the traditional manner since the supply chain has already undergone a full OJEC selection process by NHS Estates.

Interserve Plc director John Vyse welcomed the news of the company’s selection: “ProCure 21 is all about partnership and commitment to the framework’s aims: value for money, accelerated procurement and quality,” he said. “We and our supply-chain partners have shown in the pilot that we can deliver in all these areas, and we see the national roll-out of the programme as a really positive move by NHS Estates.”
