Interserve Selected as National Health Service Partner under NHS ProCure 21 Initiative

2 May 2002

NHS Estates has announced that Interserve Project Services is one of five successful companies to be appointed as principal supply chain partners under the NHS ProCure 21 initiative.

The appointment - following a rigorous, year-long selection process - heralds the beginning of this groundbreaking Pilot Programme, a four year framework agreement under which all publicly funded construction schemes in excess of £1m will be delivered in the North West and West Midlands areas of the NHS.  Work to be awarded during the first year of the framework is expected to reach £200 million.

It is envisaged that the principal supply chain partners and their supply chain will work closely with NHS clients from across the areas within a partnering relationship, providing whole life solutions in support of NHS objectives to deliver better value for money and improved services to patients.

Interserve Plc Director John Vyse commented:

"We are delighted to be appointed at such an exciting and important stage in the development of NHS procurement strategy.  This underlines our on-going commitment to working within long term relationships, where we have a real opportunity to add value for our clients."
