Custodial

Interserve has a longstanding and extremely successful partnership with specialist service provider UKDS (now called Kalyx services limited), on custodial projects.

Together we have successfully delivered four operational PFI projects and on 22 June signed a fifth project - Addiewell Prison in West Lothian, Scotland.

The first projects to be delivered in partnership where Agecroft Prison and Harmondsworth Detention Centre.

Since then two more projects have become operational, in June 2004 Ashford Prison, the first women's prison in 50 years, opened to inmates. This was followed in early 2005 by Peterborough Prison, the first purpose-built facility in the United Kingdom to accommodate both male and female inmates.

The regular and close collaboration between the two partners has meant that the team has learned together, leading to a more efficient and effective delivery.
