King Edward VII Lower School

New school buildings were provided at King Edward VII Lower School. The slopes of the site were used positively recognising the prominent location of the school, using traditional brick facings to blend in with the residential surroundings and adjacent mature trees.

The teaching accommodation has been arranged according to reflect the educational mix offered, with teaching areas grouped by department and linked by circulation routes allowing students to meet and socialise.

Both all weather and traditional grass playing fields have been included suitable for a variety of sports enabling the schools to offer a wider variety of sports throughout the year. Some teaching activities and impromptu games are also provided for in other informal areas. The local community has been encouraged to use the school and benefit from the facilities, allowing the continued integration of school and community.
