The Dudley Hospitals PFI Project represents the biggest ever single investment in Healthcare in Dudley. The hospitals are being delivered through a partnership between Dudley Group of Hospitals NHS Trust and Summit Healthcare, a special purpose company comprising Interserve, Sir Robert McAlpine and Bank of Scotland.

The project encompasses the design, build, finance and operation of a new build hospital on the former Russells Hall site as well as new ambulatory and day care centres on both of the existing Guest and Corbett sites.

The new facilities provide approximately 760 beds - double the previous number.

Interserve provided interim services throughtout the 3.5 year construction and continues to provide all non-clinical support services to the Dudley Hospitals Trust for a period of 40 years.

These services will include a range of soft and hard services such as catering, portering, estates, domestic services, transport, telecommunications, staff accommodation, laundry, medical engineering, and security.  The trust will remain responsible for all clinical and patient related services.

A total of 760 staff transferred to Interserve from the Trust under TUPE regulations. Interserve liased closely with staff, trade unions and the Trust to ensure a smooth transition.
