Facilities Services  >  Sustainability

At Interserve, our responsibility to reduce our impact on our environment is taken seriously, and we encourage sustainable working practices wherever possible.

This is being addressed at a number of levels throughout the organisation, and in particular with our clients to understand how we can help them further.  This can range from conducting carbon footprint analyses, the procurement of more sustainable materials and ecologically-sound chemicals, through to energy efficiency and the use of more sustainable energy sources.  Our selection of supplier partners is key here, and we are constantly reviewing their practices to ensure that they share our vision for a sustainable future.

Taking Sustainability Further - National Trust

We provide cleaning services at the National Trust Headquarters, Swindon where we were jointly awarded the Overall Building Cleanability Award for taking sustainability one step further.  Their new building is built around the idea of sustainability, with natural materials throughout.  Atriums and windows are designed to maximise fresh air and natural light and carpets have even been made from the wool of sheep that graze on National Trust land.  Each system of work has to be environmentally sustainable so, for example, ionised water is used because it cleans effectively without added chemicals.
