Facilities Services > News > Interserve Consortium Preferred Bidder for Corsham Defence PFI Interserve Consortium Preferred Bidder for Corsham Defence PFI 26 Oct 2006 Inteq, a consortium of Interserve, the services, maintenance and building group, and John Laing, has been named preferred bidder on the MoD’s Corsham PFI project. Interserve will provide facilities management services worth £180 million over the 25-year operational period. The MoD, through the Defence Communication Services Agency, aims to establish a communication centre of excellence at Corsham in Wiltshire. All essential MoD personnel and business partners will co-locate on a single site. The consortium will be responsible for working with Defence Estates to create and manage a working and living environment capable of supporting an estimated 2,000 users of the site. Interserve will be involved alongside Laing O’Rourke during the construction of the new flagship offices and single living accommodation, and will then provide a range of facilities management services throughout the operational phase. It is anticipated that the contract will reach financial close in late 2007, with construction completing in 2010. Interserve and John Laing will each have a 50 per cent equity/sub-debt stake in the project. “This is excellent news,” remarked Adrian Ringrose, Interserve’s Chief Executive. “It is another substantial defence project, demonstrating the strength of our working relationship with the MoD and our ability to understand and meet their particular needs.” |
