Facilities Services > News > A healthy outlook for Interserve's MacLellan brand at the Department of Health A healthy outlook for Interserve's MacLellan brand at the Department of Health 9 Jul 2007 The Department of Health (DH) has renewed the provision of its facilities management with MacLellan, now part of Interserve, for a further two years. The original contract spanned five years and the extension, worth £3.5 million over two years, will run until 2009. MacLellan provides services for approximately 5,000 employees at six of DH's prestigious buildings in central London and northern England. This includes buildings in Whitehall, Elephant & Castle and Waterloo, together with a large building in Leeds and a large data storage centre in Nelson, Lancashire. As well as being the prime contractor for building management, accommodation management, postroom services, car parking, help desk, receptionists, conference room bookings and space planning and utilities, MacLellan, as "Managing Agent", also has oversight of technical and manned security, catering and vending, cleaning, internal planting, travel, waste management, project management, couriers, and reprographics amongst other services directly contracted by the Department. When the contract began in 2002 MacLellan employed 30 people; now the number employed is almost 70. Divisional Director, Phil Collins, who oversees the account, said, "This extension is well deserved and represents a huge vote of confidence by the client. We are all extremely pleased to be able to continue the excellent work we do within the Department of Health." |
