Equipment Services > Case studies > RMD Kwikform was the clear choice for telecommunications company RMD Kwikform was the clear choice for telecommunications company When it came to selecting a formwork company for the construction of the headquarters of one of New Zealand's leading telecommunications companies, RMD KWIKFORM was the clear favourite. Throughout the entire two year construction programme, the company designed and supplied all of the formwork, falsework and access equipment for the new $45 million Centre for Clear Communications building constructed and project managed by Arrow International Limited. Such was the complexity of the 17,000 square metre project at Takapuna, North Shore City that it used many of the wide range of RMD KWIKFORM systems. Alform beams and Super Slim Soldiers were used to construct shearwall forms, while RMD KWIKFORM Shorload systems supported 3,600 linear metres of precast beams and 2,800 linear metres of precast flooring units that were infilled with in-situ concrete. The company also supplied access to the 450 metre cantilevered parapet roof. Super slim Soldiers were tied through the floor slab with Tie bars to support more than 1,000 platform planks. Thanks to a well-deserved track record in the access market, RMD KWIKFORM was also entrusted with the access scaffolding contract that allowed contractors to secure two 20 metre wide by 25 metre high sections of glazed suspended curtain walling to the open plan building. RMD KWIKFORM Rapid Scaffold was also put to work providing full access to the underside of the roof where 1,500 planks were needed. Finally, due to being able to supply the most appropriate systems for each application, work on the Centre for Clear Communications building was completed three months ahead of an already ambitious construction programme. |
